How much weight will I lose?
FDA clinical studies have shown patients taking GLP-1 medications can lose an average of 10%-20% of their starting weight after 16 months. Keep in mind individual results will vary based on factors like diet, exercise, gender, age, and other individual circumstances. Comparatively, those who only followed a diet and exercise plan achieved weight loss of only 3.5% to 2.4%.
Can I cancel anytime?
Cancellation of monthly Membership: To cancel your membership that includes a monthly Uptown Subscription Fee, Pharmacy Medication Fee & Provider Consultation Fee, you must provide a written notice of cancellation 7 days prior to your membership enrollment date to avoid any additional credit card charges. Until notice of cancellation has been received by Uptown Telemed, LLC, and cancellation is finalized, membership & services will continue and your credit card will be charged each month for said monthly membership. Do I need to be a diabetic to take semaglutide?
No. Semaglutide can be taken for weight loss purposes only
How long do I stay on a GLP-1 medication for weight loss?
The length of treatment with GLP-1 medications such as Semaglutide & Tirzepatide varies depending on each patient’s individual eight loss goals. It is important to follow a healthy diet and regular exercise to maintain the weight loss results.
What are the side effects of GLP-1 medications?
Mild side effects may occur & vary with many medications. The side effects associated with GLP-1 medications such as Semaglutide & Tirzepatide include nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, and constipation. These are usually mild and may improve within a few days.
Important safety information
Contraindications: Do not use GLP-1 medications such as Semaglutide or Tirzepatide if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2), or if you are allergic to semaglutide, tirzepatide or any of its components.
Pancreatitis: GLP-1 medications such as Semaglutide & Tirzepatide may increase the risk of pancreatitis. If you experience severe abdominal pain, with or without vomiting, consult your healthcare professional immediately.
Hypoglycemia: GLP-1 medications such as Semaglutide & Tirzepatide may increase the risk of low blood sugar, especially when combined with other diabetes medications. Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly and discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider.
Kidney function: Monitor kidney function, as GLP-1 medications such as Semaglutide & Tirzepatide may affect kidney health, particularly in patients with pre-existing kidney issues.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Consult your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, as the safety of GLP-1 medications such as Semaglutide & Tirzepatide during these periods has not been established.
